Six months and counting......countless resumes, blasts to recruiters, phone calls, networking....you name it....been there and done that. But nada, rien, nothing. So it is time to confront the elephant in the room when it comes to job hunting during this crisis. Yes folks I am talking about the "A" word - age. If furniture we grew up with is now highly collectible (with the new moniker "mid-century") then surely we should be collectible too and not forced into oblivion. Our patina of knowledge, experience and activism is destined for greater things....not sitting around collecting unemployment checks. So why has Corporate America failed us? What is really going on? My goal with this blog is to open up the discussion and create a forum for other jobseekers combatting age discrimination in their job hunts. Please share your experiences, strategies, advice and observations about what works, what doesn't and how you are dealing with unemployment and transition back to employment. I will chronicle my experiences with the hope that together we can make changes that result in jobs for all of us young, middle aged and seasoned.
